Release
Hello readers. This is EM. We held a test screening a couple of days ago. It went down better than I expected. You know you've done your job right when members of the audience close their ears because they think the sound is too scary and watch through their fingers!

Curses?
Hi everyone, this is EM. The movie is pretty much finished, the edit is locked, the sound done, and I am glad for that for a number of reasons. The last time I went through the edit before locking it, I found small samples of sound that were never recorded by us. Adobe Premiere promptly crashed upon the discovery. Make of this what you will, but if you hear stuff in the movie that are out of place, it wasn't me!

Filming done and Curses
Hi all, this is Evangelos again. Filming finished yesterday and it hugs all around. I had some great fun with everyone involved, the benefit of working among friends. I'm taking the day off today and dedicating it to my cat and friends, then Kasper and I are getting down with post-production immediately afterwards. In the meantime, you will hear from the other members of the cast and crew as well.
Despite the fun we had, I'm glad we finished filming. Things on set were getting a bit...weird. TVs would turn on and off for no apparent reason, Maria Brønnum got hit by a number of supposedly secured falling items, we were harassed by certain individuals, etc. It definitely wasn't the set to Apocalypse Now or to the Exorcist, but let's say things got spooky.

Principal Photography
Hi all. This is Evangelos Mylonas again. We are almost finished with principal photography, with a little luck and a lot of planning we'll be done by Thursday, by which point we'll move on to the audio track and sound effects.
We pulled an all-nighter yesterday and I just got off bed (it's 3-ish in the pm). Maria Brønnum, our leading lady, was so good though to the point where I didn't bother shooting my customary minimum 5 takes per cut. She is that good, and she looks like a young Sigourney Weaver too. That'll be her below, in a production still. It's a pleasure working with someone that can nail performances on the first take, it makes my life so much easier. Tireless and ready to give it her all from the word go.
Maria Hjort Paulsen's perfomance is something to be seen too. You won't actually see her face, apart from a brief cameo at the end. Her perfomance however as the nemesis of the story had me smiling like an idiot with satisfaction. There were points during her perfomance that were nothing short of pure genius and me and Kasper Møller, my co-producer, were rubbing our hands in glee at the prospect of cutting the footage together. I won't post any pics of her, I want them to be a surprise to all of you, but let's say I'm glad I took her to those performance art shows some time ago for inspiration.

Hi everyone again. This is Evangelos. As time goes by, we'll be posting promotional material, such as posters, here and on our official website (when that goes online), so stick around.

Starting out
Hi everyone. This is Evangelos Mylonas, the director and writer of Demento. My producing buddy, Kasper Møller, and me decided to set up this blog to communicate with you guys about our movie, films, and anything you fancy.
Demento is a short film we decided to put together. The premise is a young girl suffering (you guessed it) from dementia that one day wakes up to find herself locked in her apartment with no means of communicating to the outside world. Maria Brønnum, theatre actress and a good friend of mine, is staring and the film will open at this year's Action/Cut short film festival in the US. There is some thought of putting the film online for all to watch free of charge on our official website, but that will have to wait.
I bid thee farewell for now. In the meantime, check out Sunshine (www.sunshinedna.com), the new film by Danny Boyle, one of my favourite directors. His camerawork and pacing is genius and he is trully one of the masters of the medium. Cheers
